Update:

The Arizona Cardinals will be looking to turn their fortunes around when they take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium this evening. Jonathan Gannon’s team head into the clash having lost the previous three - crashing to the Titans, Seahawks and 49ers.

Rooted to the bottom of the NFC West and 13th in the Conference standings, the playoff picture doesn’t look good and if things don’t improve, Arizona could be looking a fourth straight season sitting out the postseason.

Murray misses two practices

To make matters worse, they will likely be without QB1 Kyler Murray in Indianapolis this evening. Murray picked up a foot injury during last week’s defeat to the Titans.

After missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Murray was limited on Friday. Gannon told the media that the QB along with the other players on the IR would be assessed: “They’re all making progress, we’ll see how it goes”.

The coach added that DL Darius Robinson, who is recovering from a pectoral injury is ruled out of Sunday’s matchup, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Murray will also miss the game and the nature of his injury could mean he misses more games with key encounters against the Packers and the Cowboys on the horizon.

Brissett steps in

Jacoby Brissett is expected to start against his former team in Mrray’s place. The 32-year-old, who has over a decade’s experience in the league with 11,400 yards, 53 touchdown passes and only 24 interceptions. His 1.4 interception percentage is the lowest in NFL history. Brissett joined the Cardinals on a two-year deal in March and made eight appearances for the Patriots in 2024.
