Will Alvin Kamara play for the Saints against the Commanders? NFL injury update
Alvin Kamara’s fitness has been a topic for fans all week: here’s the latest.
Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been a talking topic all week as he has failed to participate in practice ahead of his side’s Week 15 clash in the 2024 NFL season against the Washington Commanders (Sun Dec 15, 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT).
Kamara, 29, missed out on said practice due to illness, but interim head coach Darren Rizzi recently admitted that he is expected to be back in action on Thursday which could well give him enough time to enter into the plans for the game.
What is Alvin Kamara’s record this season?
As well as Kamara, Derek Carr (concussion) and D’Marco Jackson (ankle) both missed out on the session, with Juwan Johnson (foot) and Bub Means (ankle) only able to participate in some of the drills given their physical status.
The positive news for Saints fans is that Tanoh Kpassagnon appears to have overcome his achilles injury and was able to partake fully in training.
Last weekend, during the Saints' victory over the New York Giants, Kamara racked up 44 yards on 17 attempts and added 35 yards on five receptions. He may not have scored a touchdown in 7 games, but he is still averaging 16.0 PPR points per game and proving himself to be a crucial member of the team.
In his most recent game against Washington, the Georgia native managed a thrilling 16 rush attempts for 71 rushing yards (4.4 yards per carry) and a rushing touchdown, as well as 5 receptions for 51 yards (10.2 yards per reception) and a receiving touchdown.
