Will Jason Kelce participate in Wrestlemania 40?

The brothers Jason and Travis Kelce have declared themselves fans of WWE wrestling, so the ring appearance does not sound unreasonable.

Jason Kelce, 36, announced his retirement from the NFL a couple of weeks ago after having played 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Center number 62 had a successful career and was crowned champion in Super Bowl LII.

“I have been asked many times why I chose football and what attracted me to it, and I never have a correct answer. The best way to explain it is what attracts you to your favorite song, your favorite book. It’s what it makes you feel—the seriousness of it, its intensity.” These were Kelce’s words at the conference where he announced his retirement.

It has recently been reported that WWE reached out to Jason Kelce for a potential appearance at WrestleMania XL, which is scheduled to take place on April 6 and 7 at Lincoln Financial Field, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be the second time that the city has hosted the event, with the previous one being WrestleMania XV in 1999, which took place at the First Union Center.

The football player who was drafted in the sixth round (pick 191) of the 2011 NFL draft and is likely to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in the future, has publicly expressed his love for wrestling. His brother Travis Kelce has also admitted to being a fan of wrestling. It is more than possible that Jason may participate in the WWE event over the weekend.

Jason Kelce’s numbers after 13 seasons in the NFL:

  • 13 seasons with the Eagles
  • Super Bowl LII Champion
  • 7 times elected to the Pro-Bowl
  • 6-time First Team All-Pro
  • 2-time NFC champion
