Will Jeffery Simmons play for the Titans against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football, week 4?

The Titans’ defensive tackle was held out again because his elbow injury has not been practiced all week, and he is still listed as doubtful.

The Tennessee Titans are on the road this week, still looking for their first win as they take on the Miami Dolphins. Meanwhile, the Dolphins also need a victory as they aim to recover from a tough start in the post-Tua Tagovailoa era. In last week’s game, Miami only scored three points in a frustrating 17-3 loss, showing that plenty of work is needed on both sides of the ball.

Miami’s passing game struggled mightily against Seattle, with quarterbacks Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle sharing the duties but unable to find much rhythm; that was also the reason for signing the 26-year-old Tyler Huntley from the Ravens practice squad. The Dolphins’ offense ended with less than 200 yards and allowed six sacks, going backward for 46 yards. Tennessee’s defense, which has shown it can bring pressure, will look to exploit these weaknesses.

How’s the situation with injuries at the Titans camp?

In their last game, the Titans defense had three sacks. Linebacker Kenneth Murray and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons led the charge. Murray particularly stood out with two sacks, marking his first important performance since joining Tennessee.

Simmons, on the other hand, did not practice for the Titans this week due to an elbow injury. Coach Brian Callahan described the defensive tackle as “day-to-day.” The Titans also listed cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (hamstring) and safety Amani Hooker (face) as questionable. Both were limited in practice on Saturday.

The Tennessee Titans’ secondary is under scrutiny heading into this game. Last week, the Titans’ quarterback, Willis, had a good performance in his limited passing attempts, completing 13 of 19 throws for 213 yards, including a touchdown to rookie wide receiver Wilson. Nevertheless, the Titans allowed a passer rating of over 120, suggesting that their defensive backs may be vulnerable, especially against Miami’s dangerous receivers such as Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. Despite Waddle and Hill’s recent struggles—combining for just 66 yards last week—they are still major threats capable of turning the game around at any moment.

The Titans’ quarterback, Will Levis, faces a tough challenge in the upcoming game. While he has shown potential by throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns last week, he has also struggled with poor decision-making and costly turnovers, including a pick-six against Green Bay. In his last game, Levis was sacked eight times, and Miami’s defense will try to take advantage of Tennessee’s struggling offensive line. Miami’s pass rushers, such as Calais Campbell and Zach Sieler, were effective last week, combining for three sacks on Seattle’s Geno Smith, and they are expected to put heavy pressure on Levis.
