Will Russell Wilson clear the concussion protocol and play Sunday against Cardinals?
The Broncos appear to be without Wilson in Week 15′s matchup vs Cardinals and might start Rypien. Arizona is ready for “both guys”
The Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos are both without their quarterbacks ahead of their Week 15 matchup on Sunday.
Cards’ starter Kyler Murray tore his ACL on just the third play from scrimmage on Monday, while Broncos’ Russell Wilson exited Sunday’s loss to Kansas City in the fourth quarter with a concussion.
While Murray’s injury put an early end to his season, Wilson has already practiced on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday.
NFL insider Adam Schefter said Thursday he would be “shocked” if Wilson plays Sunday in Denver.

“I’d be shocked if he played. I expect Brett Rypien to start that game,” said Schefter.
Hackett: “Taking it day by day”
Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett said ahead of Wednesday’s practice that “we’re taking it day by day. We’re just following the protocol exactly how we need to and making sure that we increase his physical activity appropriately … In the end, his safety is what matters most to us. We want to make sure we’re taking care of him and all of his well-being.’’
The Broncos may look to start Rypien, who completed four-of-eight passes for 16 yards with one touchdown and one interception when he replaced Wilson.
Either way, the Cardinals “have a plan for both guys. If Russell shows up we’ll play Russell, if not, we play the other guy,” said Arizona’s defensive coordinator Vance Joseph earlier today.
