Already certain to advance to the postseason as winners of the AFC West - this is the ninth year in a row that Kansas City have won their division - the 13-1 Chiefs are the team in possession of the AFC’s top seed. With just three games left in the 2024 regular season, the 11-3 Buffalo Bills are now the only team capable of leapfrogging Andy Reid’s men.
Should the Chiefs beat the Houston Texans in Week 16 today, the back-to-back Super Bowl champions will be confirmed as No. 1 seed as long as the Bills fail to beat the New England Patriots later in the day.
Will Taylor Swift be at Arrowhead for the Texans vs Chiefs game?
There has been no official confirmation on Swift’s plans for the Texans vs the Chiefs, which will be Kansas City’s final home game of the regular season. While the singer-songwriter has stayed away from the Chiefs’ road games this term - a move partly motivated by the 35-year-old’s security concerns - she has been almost ever present at Kansas City’s home clashes. Indeed, Swift has missed just one out of seven games at Arrowhead in 2024.
The 14-time Grammy winner is also less hindered by professional commitments than at other points of the season. Her wildly lucrative Eras concert tour came to an end on December 8, and a source told Us magazine earlier this month that she’ll wait until the new year to start work on a follow-up to her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department. Swift also has plans to go back on the road, the insider said, but not until 2026.
