Will Teven Jenkins play for the Bears against the Panthers? NFL Week 5 injury status

Despite a few absentees, the Bears are relatively healthy ahead of their Week 5 clash. That said, the team will be sweating on the status of its left guard.

At 2-2, the Chicago Bears aren’t in the worst place but they could definitely do better. To that end, it will be imperative that they pile the pressure on the 1-3 Carolina Panthers who will be desperate for the win.

Teven Jenkins is a concern for the Bears

On Friday, the Chicago Bears released their final injury report, and while they will be without the services of defensive tackle Zacch Pickens and cornerback Terell Smith who have been ruled out, the team can feel confident in the fact that the roster is actually quite healthy ahead of its Week 5 game against the 1-3 Carolina Panthers.

There is, however, a deal of concern where Teven Jenkins and DeAndre Carter are concerned, with both listed as questionable. Jenkins was forced off the field during the second quarter of the Bears’ Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams with a rib injury and was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday.

“76 was limited as you guys see today, looked good. 11 same thing, looked good and was limited,” coach Matt Eberflus said. “Progressing in the right direction [and] we’ll see where that goes in the next 48 hours.” Continuing, Eberflus added “It’s just bruised and just pain tolerance [with] torque and moving — that’s really about it.”

As for other injury doubts, Bears fans will be happy to know that Gervon Dexter Sr., Cole Kmet, Marcedes Lewis, and Montez Sweat were all full participants in Friday’s practice, such that none of them carry an injury designation heading into the weekend.
