The New York Giants will be desperately hoping Thanksgiving marks a turning point in their season, although they look to be heading into Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys on the wrong foot with the potential absence of quarterback Tommy DeVito.

What injury does Tommy DeVito have?

According to ESPN, DeVito is considered “a long shot” to be fit to play at AT&T Stadium because of a right forearm injury. The 26-year-old, who has only just come into the starting team after Daniel Jones’ departure, didn’t travel to Texas with the rest of the roster as he was undergoing further examination, although he is expected to be in Dallas for the game.

But the most likely scenario is that he is there in a supporting role, with Drew Lock set to start in his place.

Daniel Jones cut as Giants quarterback

DeVito’s absence would be another blow in what has been a chaotic campaign for the Giants. Former QB Jones was cut after a 3-13 record since the start of the 2023 season, with DeVito, who started as the third string behind Lock, taking his place in last weekend’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The quarterback was sacked four times in a heavy 7-30 loss and was mocked by Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield, who copied his celebration after a touchdown.

Now, it appears as if Lock will get his chance to attempt to turn the Giants’ fortunes round.

Giants’ poor results in the NFL

Brian Daboll’s team are on a run of six consecutive defeats, and their 2-9 record is the worst of any team in the NFC (tied with AFC duo the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars).

Up until last weekend, the Cowboys had been on an equally bad sequence of results, losing five straight games, but returned to winning ways against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

What time does Giants - Cowboys start?

The game between Giants and Cowboys will be played on Thursday November 28, with kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT.
