How much money does each player of the women’s basketball Team USA make for winning the gold medal in Paris 2024?

The Americans made history in Paris by clinching the gold medal by the tightest of margins in an intense final against France.

The USA basketball teams reign supreme in the Paris Olympics. After Steph Curry guided Steve Kerr’s players to clinching gold with his brilliant three-pointers against France, the Americans won the gold in the women’s event after beating the hosts by only one point (67-66).

The U.S. women’s basketball team keeps making history, as it’s their eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal, breaking the tie with the men’s teams, which won seven in a row from 1936 to 1968. With their win in the French capital, the American players extend their Olympic winning streak to 61 matches.

“The dynasty we have built here at USA [Basketball] has been incredible. I’m so proud and blessed to be a part of it. God was working today. God was working today”, A’ja Wilson said during a post-game interview, thanking her teammates for their accomplishment.

“We understood what we had in the locker room, leaning on each other, constantly talking to one another, and believing in one another. We believed in each other, and that’s the greatest thing about it”, Wilson added after her 21 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks against France.

How much will each women’s USA basketball player get?

As they did in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Team USA finishes again on top in the medal standings.

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams were expected to emerge victorious in their tournaments and have delivered.

The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee rewards $37,500 for every gold medal, so every member of the USA basketball delegation will take home that amount of money. The athletes who win silver will get $22,500, while those who win a bronze medal will be rewarded $15,000.

The gold-medal winning Track and Field athletes will earn an additional $50,000 from World Athletics.

Considering what the American Olympic Committee pays the American athletes, it’s way less money than what other athletes from other countries get. Gold medal winners from Malaysia earn $236,000, winners from Kazakhstan get $250,000 and those from Singapore who clinch gold earn $737,000, according to Forbes.
