The 2024 Paris Olympics come to a close today but at the same time, the countdown starts for the upcoming Summer Games.

The biggest global sporting event comes to a close after two weeks of the best competitions and events in Paris.

The 2024 Olympic Games has seen many stars confirm their status and lesser-known athletes make history for their countries with their unexpected accomplishments.

More than 320 events have been taking place in the French capital over two weeks after the opening ceremony, which took place at the Jardins du Trocadéro and the Seine area.

Now, the closing ceremony will take place at Stade Saint-Denis, where acrobats, artists, and top performers will say goodbye to two weeks of non-stop Olympic action.

Where will the 2028 and 2032 Olympics be held? And when?

What makes the Summer Olympics a special event is not only the large number of different athletes from all over the world gathering in one city to try to get a medal in their respective sports but also the fact that the Games only take place once every four years.

As happened in the previous Olympics in Tokyo, the closing ceremony in Paris will make way for the next ones, which will be held in Los Angeles, from July 14–30, 2028. Besides LA, some events will take place in other cities spread across the Greater Los Angeles area, and two subsites in Oklahoma City.

After that, the Olympic Games will travel from the US to Australia, as the event will be held in Brisbane. The Games will be held from 23 July to 8 August 2032. It will be the third Summer Olympics to be held on Australian soil after the 1956 and 2000 Games, celebrated in Melbourne and Sydney, respectively.
