The Closing Ceremony at the 2024 Olympics in Paris is finally here and we take a look at who will be doing the play-by-play for American viewers.

The show is broadcast on NBC, who got the right for the hotly anticipated closing ceremony. TV regular Mike Tirico returns as one of the hosts on the coverage for the channel, alongside late night host Jimmy Fallon.

As for their team for the ceremony, they will be joined by sports commentator Terry Gannon as well as the former Olympic figure skaters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, all of whom previously served as hosts during both the Tokyo and Beijing Games.

Who is Johnny Weir?

A U.S. men’s figure skating champion and two-time Olympian (2006 and 2010), Weir retired in 2013 and transitioned to a career as a sports commentator with NBC. He served as a figure skating analyst at the Sochi Olympics, where he collaborated with Tara Lipinski.

Who is Tara Lipinski?

Tara Lipinski is a former figure skating champion who won the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. Like Weir, she took up commentating after retiring from competitive sports.

Lipinski and Weir are close friends with a shared passion for fashion, making them an excellent pair for the Closing Ceremony at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She has also worked on several TV shows, especially in voice roles.
