The first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs wrapped up with Will Zalatoris clinching his first PGA Tour victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Zalatoris is now ranked number one in the playoff standings after his victory, and only two tournaments are left to play.

The BMW Championship will be held at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware beginning on Thursday morning. The newly minted champion will be pitted against the best players of the Tour, including world number one and second in the FedEx Cup eligibility standings Scottie Scheffer, Sam Burns, as well as strong favorite Rory McIlroy.

If Zalatoris rides on the momentum of his breakout win, he could establish himself firmly at the top spot of the playoff rankings ahead of the Tour finale. FedEx Cup number three Cameron Smith will be skipping the action this weekend due to a hip injury, while Tommy Fleetwood will also be missing the competition due to personal reasons. Their absence leaves the field at only 68 players.

The 30 players with the best scores in this weekend’s competition will move on to the Tour Championship which will be held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

Golf channel and NBC will share broadcasting duties for the whole tournament, while ESPN+ and NBCSports.com will live stream the event.
