The significance of hosting the PGA in Utah after such a long hiatus is not lost on the organizers. “Bringing the PGA Tour here was about more than just golf—it was about putting Utah on the map in the sports world,” stated Patrick Manning, the managing partner of Black Desert Resort.
Utah is indeed becoming a hub for major sports events. With the NHL considering expansion into the state, another Winter Olympics is on the horizon, and now, as professional golf returns, Utah is just confirming its place as a big-time player in the sports world.
