Update:

The 2025 Masters returns for round two on Friday, and things may get messy – on the course and in the skies. While Thursday’s opening round at Augusta National delivered pretty near picture-perfect conditions, Friday’s forecast could throw off rhythm and routines. A 44% chance of rain and afternoon thundershowers are expected, with gusty winds from the west topping 16 mph. Players going off early might just dodge the worst of it.

2025 Masters: featured groups on Friday

You’ll need an early start if you want to catch some of the heavy hitters. Rory McIlroy, still chasing that elusive green jacket, tees off at 9:58 a.m. ET alongside Ludvig Åberg and Akshay Bhatia. A power trio of Hideki Matsuyama, Bryson DeChambeau, and Shane Lowry follows at 10:15 a.m., before reigning champ Jon Rahm begins his defense at 10:26 a.m. with Wyndham Clark and Tommy Fleetwood.

And in a sign that the Masters gods know how to build drama, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Spanish amateur Jose Luis Ballester are out at 1:23 p.m., meaning they’ll potentially be walking right into the teeth of the afternoon forecast. The cut could be interesting ahead of lovely weekend conditions.
