2025 PGA Championship payouts revealed: Cashing in at Quail Hollow
The 2025 PGA Championship is underway in North Carolina with Scottie Scheffler looking to add to his trophy case.
2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy have disappointed at this week’s PGA Championship in Charlotte. The two squeaked by on Friday to make the cut and didn’t play much better on Friday. Scottie Scheffler is in the lead and tipped for glory at the Quail Hollow club looking for a third major triumph.
The only other players within four shots of the lead are Alex Noren at -8 and Davis Riley and J.T. Poston both at -7. Americans Keegan Bradley, Tony Finau and Bryson DeChambeau are also within striking range at -5.
Last year, the PGA offered a total of $18.5 million in prize money with Schauffele banking $3.33 million for his victory.
On Saturday the PGA outlined the precise prize money at stake at the Quail Hollow course with a record-breaking overall purse of $19 million.
Scottie Scheffler, or whoever can get past the Texan today, will earn $3.42 million at golf’s second major of the year.
Surprise leader after days 1 and 2
Having missed cuts in nine of his last 13 majors, Jhonattan Vegas led the way after the Venezuelan shot a 7-under-par 64 to hold a two-shot lead at Quail Hollow Club.
No other golfer representing Venezuela has ever been among the top 10 on the leaderboard at the end of any round of a major.
