Alcaraz edges past Jim Courier in the all‑time No. 1 rankings
The Spaniard has now moved into 13th place on the all-time list, ahead of the American. He is just 49 days away from catching Sinner (66).

Carlos Alcaraz just keeps stacking milestones in a career that already feels legendary — something Novak Djokovic himself pointed out after the 22‑year‑old Spaniard defeated him in the most recent Australian Open final.
Now Alcaraz has hit another major benchmark: with 59 total weeks at world No. 1, he has officially passed Jim Courier (58) to take over 13th place on the all‑time list.
And he’s nowhere near done.
Alcaraz is just 49 days away from overtaking Jannik Sinner, who sits 12th with 66 weeks. Stefan Edberg’s 72 weeks are also within reach. Behind the young star are icons like Guga Kuerten (43), Andy Murray (41), and Ilie Nastase (40).

A comfortable lead over Sinner
Both Alcaraz and Sinner are competing this week in Doha. Even after dropping 500 points for skipping Rotterdam — where he was defending the 2025 title — Alcaraz still holds a commanding lead.
He currently sits at a virtual 13,050 points, while Sinner has 10,300, giving the Spaniard a cushion of 2,750 points. That margin guarantees Alcaraz will remain world No. 1 at least until the Miami Open, meaning he’ll reach 63 weeks at the top.
| ATP Ranking | Player | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Carlos Alcaraz | 13,150 |
| 2. | Jannik Sinner (Italy) | 10,300 |
| 3. | Novak Djokovic (Serbia) | 5,280 |

Minimal movement in the Top 10
There were no new entries or exits in the top 10 this week. The only change came from Alex de Miñaur, who jumped from No. 8 to No. 6 after winning the Rotterdam title.
Among Spanish players, Alejandro Davidovich remains the country’s No. 2 at No. 15, followed by Jaume Munar at No. 37. Roberto Bautista (No. 82) and Carlos Taberner (No. 100) round out the Spanish presence in the top 100.
