Update:

Carlos Alcaraz’s roadmap to return at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 — scheduled for August 13–23 — is moving in the right direction.

After more than three months sidelined with a right‑wrist injury, the 23‑year‑old Spaniard appears to be steadily sharpening his form, judging by the training clips circulating across social media.

On Monday, Alcaraz who recently reclaimed the No. 2 spot in the world rankings, pushing Alexander Zverev down a notch — trained at Club Arena in Alicante, near San Juan Beach.

He hit with fellow Spaniard Pablo Martínez (ranked No. 620) as fans gathered around the court, eager to see how the seven‑time Grand Slam champion is progressing. They didn’t leave disappointed: Alcaraz showed noticeably stronger ball‑striking and more dynamic movement, a clear step up from the indoor sessions he’d been doing at his academy in El Palmar.

By the end of the workout — sporting a durag to protect his newly braided hair — Alcaraz stayed true to form, signing autographs and posing for photos with everyone who asked.

After months away from competition, he seemed genuinely energized by the crowd, soaking in the affection of fans who have missed him dearly. And truthfully, the entire tennis world feels the same.
