Bad news for Mexican MMA fans: Noche UFC 2025 won’t be taking place in Guadalajara. Here’s why

Mexico will no longer be hosting Noche UFC 2025 in September, after last-minute construction delays at the new Arena Guadalajara led the mixed-martial-arts event to be moved.

Texas takes over for UFC event

On Saturday, it was announced that Noche UFC has been switched from Guadalajara to San Antonio, Texas, where it will go ahead on the originally scheduled date.

“The 3rd annual #NocheUFC will now take place at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas on September 13,” UFC said in a statement.

“The Noche UFC Fight Night card will celebrate and honor the remarkable contributions of Mexican fighters to combat sports and continues UFC’s great tradition of holding an event around Mexican Independence Day."

The latest Arena Guadalajara event to be called off

The 20,000-capacity Arena Guadalajara was inaugurated this year but remains unfinished, leading to the cancellation of several concerts and other sporting events, including the farewell tour of Mexican wrestler El Hijo del Santo.

Noche UFC is due to take place on a day packed with major combat sports action. In boxing, Mexico’s Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez is due to defend his four super middleweight titles against U.S. fighter Terence Crawford.
