Canelo vs GGG: Trilogy

Third boxing match between Canelo and Golovkin in super middleweight category

Austin Williams vs. Kieron Conway, 10 rounds, for WBA International middleweight title

Statements of the boxers

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez - I went through the most challenging moments of my life [referring to his previous loss], but I want to tell people that I have to go forward... Failures are sometimes good because they teach you how to do things, discard them, and be more humble.

After this, I will have to do surgery on my left hand... I almost can't hold a glass in my hand, but I'm good.

Gennady Golovkin - Everybody knows this is high-level boxing; everybody knows who Canelo is. If you make a bad step, it is a finished fight. Look at his face, look at mine, we are so clean, but this just showed you how well trained we are and how good the fight was.

Tonight's fight was more tactical, like chess, and Canelo was the better player.

Still champion

Verdict - Saul Alvarez

By unanimous decision (116-112, 115-113, 115-113) the winner and still champion -

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez - Mexico

Last round and end of the fight Canelo vs GGG: Trilogy

Umpire Mora had to react during the round, separating the fighters from non-stop clinching. In the end, a friendly hug from the boxers who had 36 rounds fighting together gives the most beautiful photo of sportsmanship in this brutal and fantastic sport.

Canelo tempts Golovkin by stepping in close range, wanting to provoke his reaction. Few responses from the Kazakh.

7th of 12 rounds Canelo vs GGG: Trilogy

Canelo still holds the lead with a much more agile boxing style. What is surprising is Golovkin's again reserved and defensive stand.

Golovkin was forced to go back during the round, something he was unfamiliar with. Despite the situation, he could send a surprising right and take some initiative in the final moments.

Golovkin is still without a correct answer to Canelo's attacks, and close to the end of the round, Canelo again sends a wide hook and finds the Kazakh surprised.

Immediately at the beginning, Canelo throws a wide hook on the front tip of Golovkin's head. The Mexican continued to be the more active of the two fighters, movement, and punch-wise.

Last round and end of fight Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Gonzalez has demonstrated that he is a strong fighter and tough nut to break, but Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez will still stay World Champion and keep the WBC World Super-Flyweight title with a unanimous decision.

It was a match with an incredible number of punches thrown from both sides, physically enduring and at moments even tiring to watch and track the furious attacks.

11th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Second low waist punch by Rodriguez; this one - not penalized.

10th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Rodriguez has all the means to face Gonzalez, short-range, long-range, counterpunch... Gonzalez is losing some of that punch precision as we're entering the final rounds.

9th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Phenomenal show by both fighters, not reserving them at any moment. Jesse Rodriguez still dominates with a better technique and style from close range.

8th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

There is an official warning for Jesse Rodriguez for a lower waist punch.

8th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

There is a cut on Gonzalez's face provoked by an unintentional headbutt. We'll see if this cut will influence the outcome.

6th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Tiredness slowly enters the bodies of both boxers, but the interchange of punches is not holding back. Despite Rodriguez being shaken, he still has somewhat of a lead.

Smell of the action

4th of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

The World Champ Rodriguez takes the initiative and, with combinations of three keeping high rhythm, ultimately stomps authority, but rowdy Gonzalez still keeps a good stance and maintains fighting.

2nd of 12 rounds Jesse Rodriguez vs. Israel Gonzalez

Jesse Rodriguez, the favorite on paper before tonight, found a very dynamic and patient opponent in Israel Gonzalez. Rodriguez still manages to shoot some interesting left directs, while Gonzalez usually aims for the body.

Verdict - Akhmedov

The unquestionable decision by the jury, the win goes to Ali Akhmedov, the Kazakhstani fighter, who gets the 19th win of his professional career.

It's interesting to see if Akhmedov's countryman Golovkin well be as successful

Last round and end of the fight

Rosado gives all that he has left in the last round, but Akhmedov, like during the majority of tonight's clash, exits as the more intelligent and technically superior boxer.

9th of 10 rouns

Akhmedov keeps his high rhythm and Rosado at a safe distance, tiring him with ferocious short combinations.

7th of 10 rounds

Rosado, now visibly tired and outboxed by the Kazakh Akhmedov. There are three more rounds in this fight, but there is nothing much Gabi Rosado can do to turn around this in his favor.

5th of 10 rounds

Akhmedov, for the first time, opens Rosado with a short right, one minute in the round, and uses that momentum to hurt him a little bit more before the bell.

4th of 10 rounds

Akhmedov is doing the work in the last two rounds and carefully waiting for his chances, collecting points and the opinions of the umpires. Rosado, truthfully not too far behind.

2nd of 10 rounds

Two fighters with two distinctive styles of boxing. Rosado has a more open stance, with a lot of showmanship but phenomenal speed to counterattack from that position. Akhmedov in difference looking for his opportunities from a more closed body position and easy footwork.

Ali Akhmedov vs. Gabriel Rosado, 10 rounds, for IBF North American super middleweight title

26 wins (15ko)    15 loss (4KO)    1

Canelo enters the Arena

End of the fight

Austin Williams is the winner of his 12th professional fight and still has a clean winning record. Conway gave all his heart in the ring tonight, but the American Williams was the stronger fighter and the more concrete one in his attacks. The Englishman missed more aggressivity in his performance which was one of the keys to his loss.
