Canelo vs Munguia purse money: How much will they make and how will they split it?

There will be a lot at stake for both boxers on fight night, but whatever the outcome is, they will both take home a significant amount of money.

The fight between Saul Alvarez and Jaime Munguia promises to be an all-Mexican, full-action-packed battle. The event will be hosted at T-Mobile Arena, in Vegas, where most of Canelo’s fights have been held over the last years.

Eddy Reynoso’s boxer will put all his belts on the line in the clash against Munguia in a fight he’s expected to win, although his opponent is undefeated and has proven he’s a rock-solid competitor.

Canelo, the only boxer to be undisputed champion at 168 lbs, believes boxing experience inside the ring will help him get another win as a professional. He knows the pressure is on him, as he could lose all the marbles in one fight, which could tarnish his legacy.

However, Munguia is also a confident fighter. He believes he has what it takes to pull off the upset and defeat the Mexican icon.

Canelo vs Munguia: how much will they make?

After Saturday’s fight, both fighters will go home with their pockets full of money. The Jalisco native will make up to $35 million on a one-fight deal with Premier Boxing Champions.

As for Munguia, it hasn’t been revealed how much he will make this weekend, but he’s expected to make more money than in all his previous fights.

Obviously, without a doubt, it’s the best purse, but thank God I’ve done very well and I’m not surprised, I’m not impressed”, he said.

It will be one of Canelo’s most lucrative nights in his career. He only earned more in two fights against Gennady Golovkin ($40 million in the first fight, 45 million in the third one), and against Caleb Plant ($40 million).

Against Munguia, Alvarez will earn $20 more million than in his clash against John Ryder in 2023, as he got a $15 million payday against the Brit.
