Carlos Alcaraz has arrived in the United States, set to dazzle American audiences with two exclusive exhibition matches this week. The Spanish tennis sensation, ranked among the world’s elite, will compete against Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, offering fans a rare glimpse of his exceptional skills on American soil.

The first exhibition, dubbed The Garden Cup, takes place this Wednesday at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. Alcaraz was spotted early this morning enjoying the front-row seats at the NBA Cup game between the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic. Although it’s not clear which his favorite team is, he has admitted before to being “a huge fan” of Michael Jordan, and has been seen in gear related to the Bulls legend. Not at the Garden, of course!

Accompanied by fellow competitor Ben Shelton, there were also American tennis stars Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro, who will also participate in the same event. Demonstrating his playful side, Alcaraz entertained the Garden crowd by tossing tennis balls with his racket and even received a Knicks jersey sporting the number 24.

The Garden Cup marks just the beginning of Alcaraz’s U.S. tour. On Friday, he will compete in the Charlotte Invitational against Frances Tiafoe. This tournament also features prominent players like Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys, providing Alcaraz, affectionately known as Charly, with a fun and competitive environment to gear up for the upcoming Australian Open season.
