Carlos Alcaraz’s 2023 Wimbledon racket breaks new record off the court
Alcaraz’s iconic Wimbledon racket now holds the record for most expensive ever sold.

Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz is still rewriting the record books, both on and off the court. This week, the 22-year-old earned another distinction: the most expensive tennis racket ever sold.
According to TMZ, the racket Alcaraz used to capture his first Wimbledon title in 2023, when he defeated Novak Djokovic in a five-set thriller, was sold at auction for an eye-popping $173,000.
Surpassing Nadal’s mark
The sale breaks the previous record held by fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Earlier this year, Nadal’s racket from his 2017 French Open victory sold for $157,000.
Alcaraz’s achievement not only underscores his growing legacy in the sport but also reflects his immense popularity among tennis fans and collectors alike. At just 22, he’s already commanding the kind of attention once reserved for legends of the game.
On the court, the Spaniard has already won six Grand Slams, five more than Novak Djokovic, the all-time record holder, at the same age.
