Conor McGregor teases sensational UFC return
Former UFC champion McGregor hinted at a fight against Michael Chandler following Donald Trump’s bold White House proposal.

Conor McGregor has teased a sensational return to the UFC hours after Donald Trump revealed plans to celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday next year by hosting a championship fight on the White House grounds.
“Each of our national parks and historic landmarks will be hosting celebrations to mark the 250th. I think we’ll have a UFC fight. I’m thinking on the White House grounds – we have a lot of land – and Dana will make it great with a championship fight,” said Trump, a longtime friend of UFC president Dana White’s.
The only place where disputes truly get settled.

Conor McGregor’s unfinished business with Michael Chandler
Sensing an opportunity to get involved in the fun on social media, McGregor posted an AI-generated image of him and Michael Chandler standing on the White House lawn, with Trump watching on in the background.
The Irishman and Chandler were opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality TV series and had been due to face off against one another at UFC 303 in June 2024. However, the fight was cancelled due to McGregor suffering a broken toe and has never been rescheduled.
McGregor’s last fight in the UFC came in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier, who defeated “Notorious” in back-to-back bouts that year.
McGregor’s previous White House experience
We can only assume the 36-year-old’s social media post is tongue-in-cheek, although he does have recent links to Trump and the White House. In March, McGregor was invited to Washington D.C. by the U.S. President for a St. Patrick’s Day event, during which Trump described his guest as “inspiring” and “fantastic”.
However, the Republican was criticized for issuing the invitation, which came just months after McGregor was found guilty of rape in a civil court case in Ireland. He has appealed the verdict.
