Eddie Hearn reveals when Oleksandr Usyk should retire
The 38-year-old Ukrainian boxer is the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in his career.

Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) is planning to rest after knocking out Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) and becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in his career.
Before choosing his next opponent, the Ukrainian boxer wants time to recover—but one prominent promoter thinks he should consider calling it quits altogether.
Eddie Hearn, president of Matchroom Boxing, told Ring Magazine that Usyk has nothing left to prove and should retire as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

“What more is there to do? He should retire”
“What more is there to do? He should retire,” Hearn said. “It was a great performance against Dubois. If he’s loving what he’s doing, good luck to him – carry on. But what else is there to do? I just can’t see him losing. Usyk is the unquestionable No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He is streets ahead of the rest. He’s sensational, a genius, a generational great.”
The 38-year-old Ukrainian currently holds the IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO titles—making him the undisputed heavyweight champion—and there are few genuine threats left in the division.
Germany’s Agit Kabayel is the interim WBC champion, while New Zealand’s Joseph Parker holds the same status with the WBO. Another name in the mix is Dutchman Willy Kyakonye, who currently holds the World Boxing Federation (WBF) title.
A more compelling option could be a trilogy bout with Tyson Fury, especially after the Briton came out of retirement and is expected to return to the ring in 2026.
