Federer will present the documentary of his last 12 days on June 20

The Swiss player announced the Amazon Prime Video documentary airing that explores his last 12 days before retiring at the 2022 Laver Cup.

Roger Federer will thrill tennis fans once again with the premiere of his new documentary Federer: Twelve Final Days, which explores the last 12 days of the Swiss tennis player as a professional before he hung up his racket on September 23, 2022, at the Laver Cup, after his doubles match with Rafa Nadal.

The film is directed by Asif Kapadia, the 2015 Best Documentary Oscar-award winner for Amy about British singer Amy Winehouse, and it can be watched on Amazon Prime Video starting June 20.

Federer’s documentary: a 12-day emotional experience

It’s a snapshot of my life over those 12 days, which is pretty hardcore and interesting”, the 20-time major champion said when the project was first announced.

The documentary’s trailer has already been presented. It shows how Federer announced his retirement on September 15, 2022, images of previous events, and his emotional Laver Cup 2022 final match with Rafa Nadal at the O2 Arena, in London.

The production will likely make quite a few fans cry again remembering his tennis farewell and those 12 days in which the tennis legend became -if he wasn’t already- one of the great myths in sports history.
