Gervonta Davis: “This judge is crazy”

Update:
A phone call from the boxer in prison was shared on Tank’s Instagram account. He was arrested for allegedly breaching his house arrest.

Gervonta Davis is again in the spotlight, but unfortunately not because of his performances inside the ring.

Tank was arrested Thursday for allegedly breaching his three-month house arrest after pleading guilty to four traffic offenses after leaving the scene of a car accident in November 2020.

Davis avoided jail and was instead sentenced to 90 days of home detention, three years probation, plus 200 hours of community service.

However, not even a month later, the Baltimore-bred star will have to spend the rest of his sentence in jail after violating the terms of his home detention order.

During a phone call that Gervonta’s entourage shared on the boxer’s Instagram account, the knockout artist trashed the judge, saying “she’s crazy”.

“This judge is crazy, bro. She locked me up because I bought a property. I get everything in my power to listen to my lawyers for home detention. I listened to everybody, to the team”, he said.

Davis’ luxurious whim at the wrong time

Davis thrashed the judge, saying she’s mad because he bought an apartment during his 90-day home detention and was staying there instead of the one-bedroom apartment of his long-time trainer Calvin Ford, as she’d requested as part of his sentence.

After beginning his house arrest period, the undefeated boxer purchased a $3.4 million, 5,000-square-foot apartment and was reportedly staying there as well at a hotel.

Davis’ lawyer said that the reason for the move was that Ford’s property was too small for him and his security team, but the judge explained that no request was made for a location change.

She’s mad that I bought a property. That’s why I’m sitting in jail. She said she wanted me to be in my apartment, a one-bedroom apartment, and I couldn’t even take that”, Davis added.

Davis, who recently defeated Ryan Garcia after a vicious body shot in the seventh round, hopes to complete his sentence and start training again to come back into the ring as soon as possible. Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson are the two names that boxing fans would like to see him fight next.
