Millions will be watching the US Open tennis finals this weekend on our television sets, and while the fairy tale ending to Serena Williams’ career was not to be, there is still some exciting tennis to be had with fifth ranked Ons Jabeur facing world number one Iga Swiatek in the Women’s final on Saturday.

Tunisian Jabeur defeated France’s Caroline Garcia in the semis to become both the first Arab as well as the first African to reach the US Open final.

On Sunday, the men’s final will see Norwegian world number five Casper Ruud face off against either Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz or American Francis Tiafoe. The Spaniard world number three is trying to undo the Cinderella story of world 22 Tiafoe, who has a backstory that is made for Hollywood.

The son of immigrants from Sierra Leone, his parents found work as live-in maintenance crew at the Junior Tennis Champions Center, and the young Francis began to play and train with rackets that were left behind by players. His father managed to get him into the training program and he has risen to take the tennis world by storm.

If he can get past Alcaraz, it will top off his greatest run so far, in a year where he has already managed to defeat Rafa Nadal in the fourth round.

Ticket prices

Tickets are still available on the Championship Tennis Tours website, ranging from $341 to $1,739 for the Women’s Final, and from $440 to $4,496 for the Men’s Final.
