No. 2 seed Alcaraz went into the final in red-hot form, having not lost a single set in the tournament. For some, his run to the showpiece game made him the marginal favorite to claim his sixth Grand Slam.
The Spaniard defeated Casper Ruud to win the US Open for the first time in 2022. He then went both Wimbledon (2023, 2024) and the French Open (2024, 2025) in consecutive years. The Australian Open is the only Grand Slam he has yet to taste victory in.

Sinner the runner-up, will pocket $2.5 million.

As a result of winning the US Open men’s final at Flushing Meadows, Alcaraz leapfrogs Sinner to regain the No. 1 spot in the ATP ranking. The Italian drops to No. 2, well clear of Alexander Zverev.
