How much prize money did Billy Horschel win at the 2024 BMW PGA Championship?

Drama was at a premium in Surrey for the final round of the 2024 BMW PGA Championship as with three players tied at the end of Sunday’s play on (-20), a three-way play-off was needed to determine the winner.

Rory McIlroy, Billy Horschel and Thriston Lawrence all managed to maintain their nerve on the final round with Lawrence going round on Sunday in (-7) as overnight leader Matteo Manassero struggled posting a final round of (+1) to finish in joint fourth place at the Wentworth Course.

This was the first play-off at the BMW PGA Championship since 2013, when 2024 leader on Saturday Matteo Manassero overcame Simon Khan and Marc Warren.

Lawrence was the first player to blink and shot into the water to leave it to a tw-man shootout between McIlroy and Horschel with the South African pocketing over $500,00 for his third place finish.

Both Horschel and McIlroy managed a birdie at the play-off hole with both players having to repeat the 18th hole again with both looking to win at Wentworth for the second time with the American winning out showing ice calm nerves on the eagle putt and the 2021 champion takes the title again along with over $1.5 million in prize money.
