All the attention in the world of golf is in Hawaii, as the PGA Tour has begun with the celebration of The Sentry Tournament of Champions.
The event, which is being held at the Kapalua Plantation Course on the island of Maui from Thursday until Sunday, features some of the best golfers on the planet.
A total of 59 players are competing in the tournament, while 35 of them won at least one PGA Tour event in 2023.
The world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, the Open champion Brian Harman, Tony Finau, Jordan Spieth, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, and Tommy Fleetwood are some of the biggest names that will be looking to win the trophy.
However, the second-best golfer in the rankings, Rory McIlroy, won’t be in the event, as he will play at the Dubai Invitational instead.
Another top player like John Ram, the 2023 champion, won’t be at the Kapalua Plantation Course either.
How much will the winner get?
In terms of economic prize, the winner of the first PGA Tour event of the year will go home with his pockets full of money.
A total amount of $20 million will be available for the players, with the winner of The Sentry Tournament of Champions getting $3.6 million.
