Update:

Throughout his career, he promoted the idea of never giving up, carrying the wrestling industry on his shoulders. Although he came close to walking away on several occasions, John Cena always rose above it all, driven by the motivation that defined him.

Gunther was the final rival of his career, and despite suffering a minor injury, it did not stop him from appearing at WWE Saturday Night Main Event to honour his commitment and face one of the greatest of all time.

The match was slow at times, but effective. Gunther unleashed his best offence against Cena, who consistently fought back with strong defence. The action spilled to ringside, where Cena slammed his opponent through the announce table before rolling him back into the ring, only for the count to reach two.

The key for the ‘General of the Ring’ was his ground game. He trapped Cena in a reinforced neck lock on multiple occasions. Cena managed to escape the hold once, but the strategy proved decisive the second time, as Gunther tightened the grip and forced him to submit.

After the match, the entire WWE roster entered the ring to honour Cena’s career. The champions, CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, handed him their titles to raise in the centre of the ring, just as he had done so many times before. John Cena’s in-ring career has come to an end, but his legacy is secure, and a Hall of Fame induction surely awaits.
