Mayweather Jr. reveals his top three boxers in the world

The undefeated former champion spoke about the current situation of boxing and revealed who are the best three boxers.

Update:
The undefeated former champion spoke about the current situation of boxing and revealed who are the best three boxers.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired from professional boxing after his fight against Conor McGregor in 2017, and since then he has been seen in action in some exhibition bouts.

The Grand Rapids native has also been surrounded by rumors about a possible rematch fight with Manny Pacquiao this year after the Filipino legend stated days ago that the two men will go at it again in 2024.

Mayweather has been seen working out in the gym despite being retired and helping some boxers prepare for their fights. He has also been promoting one of the best young prospects in the world, Curmel Moton, who has shown some similarities to his former protegee Gervomta Davis.

Mayweather Jr. says who are the three best boxers in the world

Talking to Inside Fighting, Mayweahter Jr. was asked about who his top three boxers are right now, and Mayweather Jr didn’t bite his tongue. The boxing promoter answered by saying that Canelo Alvarez, Ryan Garcia, and Gervonta Davis are, in his opinion, the three best men in the sport.

Canelo and Davis seem obvious picks, but KingRy was a surprising choice, as he hasn’t accomplished many things in boxing yet and hasn’t won a world title. However, speaking about PPV events, charisma, and followers on social media, he’s one of the boxers to keep an eye on.

Nobody probably would be surprised about Canelo, as he is the undisputed super middleweight champion, former four-division world champion, and the face of boxing when it comes to generating lots of money.

The same happens with Gervonta Davis. The Baltimore-bred talent was one of Mayweather Jr.’s protegees and he has proven why there was so much hype surrounding his persona some years ago. He is the WBA lightweight titleholder and his numbers regarding PPV sales are impressive. He hasn’t tasted defeat and his boxing skills mixed with his power punches make him a fun boxer to watch.

It’s also surprising not to see the names of Naoya Inoue, Terence Crawford, or Devin Haney on Mayweather’s list, as they are all undefeated and have had a brilliant year.
