Mike Tyson says who will win the Canelo-Charlo bout

The former heavyweight king shared his thoughts on the fight between the Mexican and the American, set to take place in September.

Update:
The former heavyweight king shared his thoughts on the fight between the Mexican and the American, set to take place in September.

While boxing fans are counting the hours for the Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford super fight this weekend, there will be another exciting bout on September 30, as Saúl Álvarez and Jermell Charlo will collide in Las Vegas.

The fight will take place at super middleweight, where Canelo is the undisputed king, holding all four belts. Charlo also has all the straps in the super welterweight division, so he will go up two divisions to challenge the Mexican.

It will be Álvarez’s first fight out of the multi-millionaire three-bout deal he signed with PBC. At first, the chosen one was Jermall Charlo, but his inactivity and personal issues made his twin Jermell the man to fight Canelo.

Mike Tyson shares his prediction

It will be a dangerous fight for Canelo, as Mell won’t get into the ring only for the money, but to try to dethrone Álvarez in his weight class.

The American is confident he can pull off the upset, as Eddy Reynoso’s most charismatic boxer hasn’t looked particularly great in his last fights.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson won’t miss the fight and while analyzing both fighters, he gave a prediction on who he believes will get the win, speaking to ES News:

“I think Canelo should beat him. Overpower him”.

However, Iron Mike also believes the Mexican will need to make some adjustments from his recent fights if he wants to get the job done against Charlo.

“But Canelo’s not moving his head nowhere. That other guy was hitting him. And that gave him the confidence, he believes he can hit Canelo”, he said.

Álvarez last fought John Ryder in May, defeating the Brit in a hard-fought battle at Estadio Akron, while Charlo became undisputed in May of 2022 with a knockout victory over Brian Castaño.
