Not Lomachenko or Teófimo López, the opponent Gervonta Davis is asking for to make the fight of the century: “it would be a dream fight”
The 30-year-old has apparently set his sights on facing a retired world champion in what he has described as a ‘dream fight’.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is one of boxing’s most in-form fighters with the Baltimore native undefeated through all 30 of his contests since his debut in 2013.
The 30-year-old holds the World Boxing Association lightweight title since 2023, having previously held the regular version from 2019 to 2023.
The fighter is set to defend against Lamont Roach on March 1 in New York City and before the big fight, Davis took time to speak with the ‘A Safe Place Podcast’.
‘Dream fight’
Upon being asked about a hypothetical ‘dream fight’, Davis stated that going into the ring with veteran Floyd Mayweather Jr would be top of the list.
Mayweather aka ‘Money’ has not fought in a professional capacity since 2017 when he overcame MMA legend Conor McGregor in his 50th and final contest but has fought the likes of Tenshin Nasukawa, Logan Paul and Aaron Chalmers in exhibition bouts.
