Over 50 organisations pledge commitment to host events at Sport Integrity Week 2023

Sport Integrity Week is back and is set to be held between 2 to 9 September 2023, the global thought-leadership event is the pinnacle for all those in the sports industry with an interest in Sport Integrity. Building on the success of the previous three annual editions, the #SIW2023 will expand on the concept of the previous years, innovate, and increase its outreach in all continents.

Originally launched in 2020, at the peak of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the event has rightfully earned its place on the global map, and saw the Portuguese Municipality of Cascais host the 2022 edition, the first one to be held in-person.

The global movement, initiated by the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) to mark the fourth edition of Sport Integrity Week, is rapidly expanding and gaining momentum, with enthusiastic engagement from stakeholders worldwide. Since the official launch announcement of #SIW2023 on 5 July, followed by a second announcement on the 13th, more than 50 organisations have pledged their commitment to host events, significantly boosting global awareness about the urgent need to safeguard and reform credibility of Sport and promote integrity-driven reforms to ensure the sustainable and long-term development of the entire cluster.

This week’s Hosting Partner additions include the Municipality of São Paulo, through its Municipal Secretariat for Sport and Leisure, the Government of the Azores, the Brazilian Universidade do Futebol, the RMBS law firm, the influential Soccerex conference, US-based agency underdog venture team, the Swedish Sports Management Podcast, the United States Center for Coaching Excellence, the Qatar Stars League and two-time Brazilian football champions Clube Atlético Mineiro along with Spanish prestigious sports outlet Diario AS.

The inclusion of these organisations highlights the sports industry’s collective dedication to upholding Integrity and transparency in all aspects of Sport. It further demonstrates the support of the range of key stakeholders and their unequivocal endorsement of SIGA’s vision and mission, a collective that encompasses public authorities, sponsors, global business, international non-profit organisations and prominent sports entities. As #SIW2023 continues to expand globally, SIGA is excited to welcome new cities to its global reach.
