The YouTube star said that he is willing to make the fight happen this year after the boxing legend proposed it during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Jake Paul has a lot of respect for boxing legend Mike Tyson and it seems that both sides have agreed to fight before the end of the year. The YouTube star used his Twitter account to verbally agree to face Tyson but the boxing legend said that “anything is possible but it has got to happen this year.”
Jake Paul response to Tyson’s proposal
“Thank you to the great Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity. This year we are making it happen,” wrote Jake Paul after Tyson said that he plans to fight the YouTuber during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The boxing legend has a lot of respect for Jake Paul and he believes that the YouTuber is helping the sport by bringing in new fans and increasing the fighters’ purses. The fight between Paul and Tyson could reach $300 million so both sides are keen to make it happen before the end of the year.
“Even if he is fighting fighters that aren’t meant to be good enough, they should still be beating him but they can’t,” Tyson said of his potential opponent. “He is beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating so you have to give him credit. He is doing good and he is doing things that are great for boxing. This guy has seven million people following him every time he fights.
“The champions of the world don’t have that many people following him so what he is doing for boxing is sensational. No-one should be hating on him, what this kid is doing they should be following him. He is helping everybody get money so why are people mad at him?”
