Rocket Mortgage Classic 2024: Updated round 3 tee times and groups | Leaders start at 3 p.m.
Chasing his first PGA Tour victory, England’s Aaron Rai drew level with Akshay Bhatia at the top of the Rocket Mortgage Classic leaderboard on day two.
The US’s Akshay Bhatia and England’s Aaron Rai are tied for the lead ahead of day three of the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic, with both on 13-under after round two. Seeking his first ever PGA Tour win, Rai shot a seven-under 65 yesterday, to pull level with Bhatia at the top of the leaderboard at Detroit Golf Club. Bhatia carded 67 on day two in Michigan, having scored an unmatched 64 on Thursday.
Behind Bhatia and Rai, the chasing pack is led by South Africa’s Erik van Rooyen, and US trio Taylor Montgomery, Troy Merritt and Cameron Young. That foursome all head into the weekend on 11-under. The defending champion, American Rickie Fowler, is in a tie for 36th place after finishing his second round on six-under.

Among the players who failed to make the four-under cutline yesterday, the biggest name was South Korea’s Tom Kim, the world No. 16. Runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at the Travelers Championship last week, Kim finished round two on three-under, having failed to recover from a one-over round of 73 on day one.
