Ryan García defeated Devin Haney by majority decision and, now, it seems that he is already targeting his next opponent for a World title. The Haney fight was originally meant to be for the WBC Super Lightweight belt but when García missed the 140lb limit, the WBC took the title off the table.

After shocking the boxing world in New York, Ryan “King Ry” García’s father tells the world’s media that they have their eyes on Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and the World Boxing Association Super Lightweight title.

Let's go for the Pitbull Cruz. Let's go get him, nothing happens. If Ryan wants to do it, he can do it, but he told me he feels like he's a welterweight, or maybe even a 154, so it could be fighting (Sebastian) Fundora.”

On the other hand, Henry García confirmed that his son had problems reaching 140 pounds, since he considers himself a fighter of 147 or even 154 pounds, which is why he had problems making the weight against Haney.

“I know that Ryan is not a 140. He can get to that weight if he is totally focused, but honestly, he is a 147. He is a 147, and maybe even a 154. Fighting at 140? He can maybe or maybe not reach that weight.”

With his victory against Haney, Ryan García reached a record of 25-1 with Gervonta Davis being his only professional loss. It is worth noting that in that loss, Garcia fought at 136 pounds .
