Update:

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has revealed the winners of its first Sport Integrity Awards, celebrating organizations and leaders driving higher standards of transparency, ethics, and good governance across global sport. The ceremony took place in Riyadh on Tuesday as part of Sport Integrity Action Month, hosted in partnership with ESTAAD and Cityscape Global.

The awards spotlight a wide range of achievements across governance, sustainability, event delivery, and ethical leadership.

Tottenham Hotspur FC was named Leader in Sustainability and Innovation, recognized for its club-wide environmental strategy that includes a certified sustainable event management system, public emissions reporting, renewable energy use at its stadium, and extensive work in biodiversity and circular economy practices. Judges highlighted Tottenham’s ability to embed sustainability into long-term planning and community initiatives.

Roc Nation Sports earned Marketing Campaign of the Year for its partnership with the all-electric E1 Series. The campaign put sustainability, gender equality, and integrity at the heart of a new water-motorsport property, using creative storytelling and cultural reach to bring complex environmental and ethical themes to a wider audience.

European Aquatics received Sports Organization of the Year, following major integrity reforms introduced since 2023. These include a strengthened Integrity Code, an independent Integrity Unit, governance changes, public financial reporting, and the Sport Transparency Index developed with SIGA and the European Union. The federation’s SIRVS Bronze certification further validated the progress.

In Asia, the AFC Champions League 2024/25 won SIGA ASIA Sport Event of the Year, recognized for strong competition regulations, integrity safeguards, and operational standards that reinforce confidence among fans, clubs, and partners across a vast and diverse region.

SIGA also honored IOC President Kirsty Coventry as Sport Leader of the Year, following her historic election as the first woman and the first African to lead the International Olympic Committee. Coventry was praised for prioritizing integrity, athlete welfare, transparency, and inclusion, and for a leadership approach grounded in governance reform and science-based decision-making.

Two UEFA competitions shared Sport Event of the Year: UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 and the UEFA Champions League 2024/25. The Women’s EURO was recognized for its ESG strategy, covering sustainability, safeguarding, human rights, and increased financial support for women players. The reformed Champions League format was praised for reinforcing competitive balance and sporting merit.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Yousef Al Serkal, honored for decades of leadership in Asian and international sport. His work in football administration and, more recently, as Chair of the SIGA ASIA Advisory Board, was credited with strengthening governance and transparency frameworks across the region.

Diario AS was named Media of the Year, with SIGA recognizing the outlet’s sustained commitment to strengthening integrity in global sport. The organization highlighted AS’s investigative reporting on corruption, match-fixing, discrimination, and abuse, as well as its Sport for Good and Women in Sport series, its updated Code of Ethics for digital sports journalism, and its international collaborations on integrity issues.

“Integrity is not optional”

Commenting on the significance of the inaugural Sport Integrity Awards, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Co-Founder & Global CEO of SIGA, and Executive Chairman of SIGA ASIA, said: “Tonight, the SIGA Sport Integrity Awards honor individuals and organizations whose leadership has set the highest standard for integrity in sport.

“These Awards go beyond recognition. They honor tangible achievements and meaningful impact — actions that advance integrity, strengthen institutions and build real trust across the sporting world. They highlight those whose leading example sets the benchmark for others, creating a legacy that will shape the sector for years to come.

“The recipients we celebrate tonight have shown that integrity is not optional; it is precisely the foundation upon which the credibility and future of sport rest.
