Tamara Sytch, known as Sunny in the ring, was arrested on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida. Authorities have stated that the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer is accused in the DUI death of man in a traffic crash earlier this year.

WWE’s Sunny could face jail time

The crash happened in Ormond Beach on 25 March 2022 and resulted in the death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter. According to police, Sytch’s blood alcohol content after the crash was recorded at .280, more than three times over the legal limit to drive in Florida. Records show that other charges for the 49-year-old were multiple counts of causing injury in a DUI crash and driving with a suspended license. Sytch was released from the Volusia County Jail on Saturday after posting a $227,500 bond.

The arrest report said that Sytch had driven into the the back of a car that had stopped at a red light, forcing it into the one stopped in front of it.

“Our heartfelt thoughts remain with the Lasseter family as we proceed with this case,” the local police said in a statement.

Further reports have noted that this is not the first time that the former WWE star has been in trouble for DUI, but the fatality is likely to bring with it a much more serious punishment, with some suggesting that it could be up to 30 years in prison.
