The price of membership at Aronimink Golf Club: What members pay for elite access
Aronimink Golf Club returns to the PGA Championship spotlight for the first time since 1962, but access comes at a price.
The PGA Championship returns to Aronimink Golf Club in the western suburbs of Philadelphia for the first time in 64 years, with the 2026 tournament running from Thursday, May 14, through Sunday, May 17.
Scottie Scheffler? Rory McIlroy? Jon Rahm? Who will follow in the footsteps of Gary Player, who won the only other PGA Championship held in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, in 1962?
If you’re struggling to remember the legendary South African’s victory at Aronimink, you may instead recall more recent PGA Tour events held at the course. Justin Rose (2010) and Nick Watney (2011) won the Tiger Woods-hosted AT&T National, which hasn’t been played since 2018, while Keegan Bradley came out on top at the 2018 BMW Championship, now held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.
A rare look at Aronimink Golf Club
The most recent high-profile tournament played at Aronimink was the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship, won by South Korea’s Kim Sei-young, so many viewers may not be overly familiar with this week’s course.
And for most of us, the chances of being able to play it are incredibly slim.
According to a GOLF.com source, the private club is rather picky when deciding whose membership applications to accept. Under normal circumstances, the course, designed by renowned golf course architect Donald Ross, is accessible only to members.
How much does Aronimink membership cost?
To join, you’ll reportedly have to splash out a $150,000 initiation fee for starters, followed by monthly dues of around $1,800.
In addition to getting out for 18 holes, members can also enjoy the venue’s swimming pools, paddle and tennis courts, and trap shooting facilities.
If you’re not a member but fancy catching a glimpse of the course in person, you might have to book Aronimink Golf Club for your wedding, or a similarly grandiose event, which the club also hosts.
