These are the celebrities running in the 2025 New York City Marathon
Here’s a look at the celebrities set to get running at the upcoming New York marathon.
The streets of New York will host more than just elite runners this year when the lights turn green to signal the start of the upcoming marathon. A diverse group of entertainers, athletes and media personalities will join the 26.2-mile journey across the five boroughs, adding to the intrigue and entertainment surrounding the event.
Let’s take a look at some of the famous faces to take part in this year’s event.
One standout is Anthony Ramos, the Brooklyn-born actor and singer known for his work on Broadway. Making his marathon debut, he’s working with 2018 Boston Marathon champion Des Linden as coach to deliver his best time for the event.
Then there’s the musical duo of Ben Gibbard and Dave Depper, from Death Cab for Cutie and related projects, who are making waves by joining the marathon to support climate action via the nonprofit Protect Our Winters.
Actress Claire Holt is returning for another marathon attempt: she’s no stranger to major races and is once again tackling the Big Apple event. Meanwhile, British actor Oliver Phelps (a familiar face to Harry Potter fans) is stepping into a marathon for the first time in support of the Matt Hampson Foundation, which helps young athletes who have suffered serious injuries.
The cast of celebrities continues: N.O.R.E. (aka Noreaga) from Queens will be there, making his debut with his crew, and actors like Jordan Litz and Merle Dandridge, both raising funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
