The hotel and golf course lands were leased from the Bernice P. Bishop Estate, and Waialae Golf Course was officially opened on February 1, 1927. Additionally, there are special provisions for military personnel and children, with free admission offered to U.S. military members and dependents, as well as children under 15 when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
