Update:

Spanish tennis star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina married his long-term partner Paloma Amatiste in the exclusive Sotogrande residential development near Cádiz in southern Spain at the weekend.

The ceremony was held at the Trocadero Sotogrande, overlooking the placid waters of the Mediterranean, with family and friends of the happy couple in attendance. The newlyweds were showered with a cascade of white flower petals, to the sound of Al Bano and Romina Power’s 1982 Italo-disco hit, Felicità.

The reception was held at Chambao - a luxury beachfront club nestled among the palm trees on Torreguadiaro beach, where guests sipped cocktails, lounged by the private pool while enjoying music played by resident DJs.

Engaged in the Eternal City

Alejandro popped the question in January last year in a romantic setting - after tossing coins into the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Since then the couple have kept their private life out of the public eye although both are active on social media.

Alejandro‘s wife Paloma Amatiste is a fashion designer with Italian heritage. She was born in Rome but grew up not too far away from her husband in Marbella. She has worked for Spanish fashion brands Zara and Mango but prefers to remain out of the limelight although she has accompanied Alejandro at several of his tournaments.

Alejandro and Paloma will begin their life together as newlyweds in Montecarlo, where the tennis player relocated recently.

Davidovich pulls out of Queen’s

Davidovich has withdrawn from Queen’s where he was due to meet fellow countryman Carlos Alcaraz in the first round on Tuesday. His absence is down to illness - Alcaraz will face Australia’s Adam Walton instead. Alejandro, who is 28th in the ATP ranking, was last in action at Roland Garros where he was eliminated by Jiri Lehecka in the Round of 64.
