Update:

From the controversy that surrounded the league’s introduction to accusations of Saudi ‘sport washing’, not to mention the apparent hijacking of PGA Tour golfers, it would seem that LIV Golf continues to make progress.

LIV Golf announces multi-year deal with Fox Sports

According to an official announcement on Thursday, LIV Golf has secured a multi-year media rights deal with Fox Sports which will see all of its tournament rounds broadcast live on one of the Fox Family networks. It is understood that the U.S. deal will see LIV Golf paid a rights fee.

This is of course notable in that the agreement differs significantly from the agreement that LIV had with the CW network over the last two years. It should also be said that LIV’s own broadcast team will be maintained. As per reports, LIV Golf will continue to handle production and all costs related to it. The announcement isn’t entirely surprising when considering that Sports Business Journal previously reported that the league was in negotiation with Fox.

Where details are concerned, LIV Golf also indicated that more than half of the League’s schedule will air on Fox or FS1, however, there was no word on what tournaments or rounds would be shown and when. That said, what is clear is that select rounds will air on FS2, Fox Business, or the Fox Sports App. Additionally, the LIV Golf+ app will stream all rounds but will require a subscription in the U.S. There were no further details on the cost or the content and interestingly enough no elaboration on how much the entire deal itself is worth. Regarding the tournament slate, LIV Golf’s 14-event schedule begins with an event that runs from February 6th to 8th event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia followed by a tournament in Adelaide, Australia just one week later.
