UFC Freedom 250: FBI foils alleged drone‑bomb plot targeting White House event
The National Agency stopped a plot - “a coordinated attack” involving drones and snipers, at Sunday’s event. Five arrests were made.

The UFC Freedom 250 card held this past Sunday at the White House — the same event where Ilia Topuria lost to Justin Gaethje — was nearly the target of a violent attack, according to reporting from CBS News. Five individuals are now in custody after an FBI operation disrupted what officials describe as a credible threat.
Kash Patel, director of the agency, announced the situation on X, saying that “on June 10, the FBI and our law‑enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat.”
Federal intelligence teams neutralized the risk and remain on heightened alert, urging the public to report suspicious activity through the official hotline.

What the alleged plot involved
According to CBS News, investigators believe the plan centered on two explosive‑laden drones intended to strike the crowd gathered for the event. Snipers were reportedly prepared to target attendees as part of a coordinated attack. The plot allegedly included a second phase: an attempted assault on the White House itself.
The investigation began when a family member contacted authorities after being alarmed by comments made by someone in their circle about the event. That tip led to the arrest of a man in Ohio, which then triggered the takedown of the rest of the network. Members of the group were reportedly coordinating through online chats.
A second security scare in weeks
This attempted attack comes on the heels of another incident in late April, when the Secret Service opened fire on an armed man at a White House checkpoint. No major injuries were reported, and the investigation into that case is still ongoing.
Federal officials emphasize that the threat linked to UFC Freedom 250 has been contained, and no harm came to attendees.
