The MLS Cup 2022 champions, led by the Mexican Carlos Vela, secured its ticket to the final of the Concacaf Champions League 2023 on Tuesday by eliminating the Philadelphia Union, for which an LA franchise hit one of the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ again. The 26-year-old Mexican pitcher returned with seven innings, in which he completed 10 strikeouts and only allowed 1 hit against the Phillies batters. The rest of the work was done by players like Mookie Betts, Miguel Vargas, Freddie Freeman and Chris Taylor with great at-bats.

Los Angeles Angels

Then came the Angels. Another franchise from this territory that shone on Tuesday night were the LA Angels of Anaheim with Mexican Patrick Sandoval as the starter. The pitcher who was with Mexico in the 2023 World Baseball Classic and was a star in the 2022 season, behind Shohei Ohtani, was the winning pitcher against the St. Louis Cardinals; he pitched five innings, struck out four opponents, and allowed three hits.
