Saúl Canelo Álvarez is one of the greatest stars in boxing at the moment.

He is regarded by BoxRec as the best pound-for-pound fighter globally and has an impressive boxing record. Over 61 fights, Álvarez has put up a win-draw-loss slate of 57-2-2, with 39 of those victories delivered via knockout.

The 32-year-old Mexican is one of the fastest and most formidable punchers on the planet and is displaying no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He is known as an excellent counterpuncher, exploiting openings in his opponents’ guards while avoiding punches with head and body movement. Álvarez is also known for his attacks to the body.

Canelo is set to go head-to-head with Gennady Golovkin in the final chapter of their trilogy fight on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the same venue for their first two meetings. You can find the details of how to watch the bout here, so that you don’t miss it.

Canelo has battled - and won - through various weight classes over his career, even calibrating as far as a light heavyweight. This is the division where he suffered his second loss, which was handed to him in May by Russian fighter Dmitry Bivol via unanimous decision.

Álvarez’s first defeat occurred in 2013 against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. At the time of that fight, Canelo was still a young and raw hitter.

Canelo has fought in a tremendous 61 professional bouts, winning 57, with two draws coming when he first faced Golovkin in 2017, and the other way back in 2006 against Jorge Juarez.
