What is the 2024 Division 1 NCAA softball official bracket?
The official bracket for the 2024 Division 1 NCAA softball tournament has been released, marking the beginning of the journey to the Women’s College World Series.
The tournament features 64 teams competing across 16 regional sites in a double-elimination format. The winners of each regional advance to the Super Regionals, which are best-of-three series, and the victors there move on to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Top Seeds:
Texas secured the No. 1 seed and will host the Austin Regional. Oklahoma, aiming for another title, is the No. 2 seed and will play in the Norman Regional. Tennessee and Florida State round out the top four seeds.

Austin, Texas: Texas (1), Northwestern, St. Francis, Siena.
Norman, Oklahoma: Oklahoma (2), Oregon, Boston University, Cleveland State.
Knoxville, Tennessee: Tennessee (3), Virginia, Miami (OH), Campbell.
Gainesville, Florida: Florida (4), Texas Tech, South Florida, Central Connecticut State.
Notable Teams:
UCLA, a historic powerhouse, is hosting a regional in Los Angeles as the number 6 seed. Stanford, another strong contender, is hosting in Palo Alto as the number 4 seed. LSU and Alabama, both perennial threats, are hosting regionals in Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa, respectively .
Tournament Structure:
Regionals: May 16-19, 2024. Each regional features four teams, and the winner needs three victories to advance.
Super Regionals: May 23-26, 2024. The 16 regional winners play in eight best-of-three series.
Women’s College World Series: May 30 - June 7, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
