In her last PGA Championship Lexi Thompson wants to go out with a bang and she’s looking to keep up her high level on Friday. The top of the leaderboard is crowded with 22 golfers at 1-under par or better. Thompson was off to a quick start on Friday after going -3 through ten holes, but a double-bogey on 11 together with two more bogeys and a birdie on the back nine dropped her to 4-under par (-4) for the tournament, currently tied with Hinako Shibuno and Jin Young Ko. American golfer Sarah Schmetzel finished 6-under par (-6) score after shooting 67 on Friday. She is tied at the top of the leaderboard with Amy Yang.

Players were challenged to keep the ball between the trees at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. The fairways are narrow and keeping the ball between tree lines is essential to score low. The par-72 course is playing at 6,731 yards, but the 7,500 trees aren’t the only obstacles players will face. There are six holes with water hazards and plenty of buckers to protect the greens, 56 of them scattered in the fairways and around the putting surfaces.
